One particular product that grabbed me immediately was the Jupiter Jack – an electronic device that enables you to talk on your cell phone hands free. I first saw this product on Pitchmen with Billy Mays. They had a few issues with clearing a name, before finally settling on Jupiter Jack. The inventor was trying to sell this under the name of Black Jack, which proved impossible to clear legally.

Frankly, I would have liked to have seen them spend more time on a better name. There are many products that were first to market in the As Seen on TV world, only to be redesigned and repackaged and renamed by another company to greater success – Examples: Zorbeez was soaked up by Sham Wow. Quick Chop was diced by Slap Chop, making it look like boring tuna. Slanket was smothered by Snuggie.
Jupiter Jack comes at the right time, now that many states are outlawing talking on cell phones while driving. You plug the Jupiter Jack into the headphone jack of your cell phone and then simply tune your car radio to 99.3 FM. You can then talk hands free on your cell, with the person you are talking to now being broadcast through your stereo speakers.

It’s a good idea, a good price, and Billy Mays did the infomercial. I think they’ll be selling a lot of Jupiter Jacks

Google has dropped a bombshell on Microsoft (and the world) tonight by announcing the upcoming release of their own Operating System – Google Chrome OS.
